This came out back in July, but most people missed it, but I want to quote it verbatim even though I’m going to place the link below so you can read it yourself. This is from Lima which came out on July 21st. It said total U.S. annuity sales increased by 22 percent in the second quarter of 2022, to a total of 77 billion dollars just in one quarter was poured into annuities and this was tracked by the Limra with their individual sales survey. This marks the highest quarterly sales ever recorded. During the fourth quarter of 2008 during the Great Recession, many people say we were heading into a new Great Recession, and I’m definitely in a recession. The question is, just how bad is it going to be? But, interestingly, we’re seeing that much money being poured into annuity sales right for those who have heard the word boss but just don’t quite understand it most people don’t realize that currently in the United States over 2.5 trillion dollars is currently Limra even says in the article that one of the reasons they believe money is being poured in right now with what’s going on is that we see a falling market and people who are getting anxious about watching their uh nest eggs reduce in value, especially for those who are currently taking income and they’re seeing their portfolio decline. We’ve been here in Alpharetta for over 40 years in the North Metro Atlanta area, so what I came to address to you today was the question of what makes us different and why are we different from most firms that you’re out there. And I would probably say that’s probably the best question to ask when walking into a firm or inquiring about a financial planner. I kind of use an example an analogy of walking on an airplane I know when I go onto an airplane uh whether I’m on a trip or whatever the first thing I do is I enter the plane I look to my left and what I’m looking for I’m looking into the cockpit and I’m looking for two things right I’m looking for no hair or gray hair now I don’t care the fact that those two guys sitting up there or both women sitting up there had passed their exam flying a plane what I’m more interested in is uh how long they’ve been around had they navigated through uh the thunderstorms the markets uh have they been when they’ve lost an engine and had to get the plane safely on the ground, uh you know combined just with our top three principles here at Georgia Advisory Group we’ve got over 120 years experience in the financial industry So, that’s uh that’s pretty important so the experience does make a difference where you’ve been through every Market that you can imagine and even family situation whether it’s divorce or estate planning or tax preparation that you’ve seen about everything that’s out there so that’s important number one experience number two I would say to you is uh a holistic approach or comprehensive approach in today’s environment it seems like everything’s getting sliced up uh if I need to get my taxes I go see a CPA If I need to get a will done, I’ve got to go see an attorney. If, you know, I need someone to look at my money or stocks or bonds or whatever I’m doing in the stock market, I go see my finance adviser. Out of all the assets that you’ve got out there, probably one of the greatest outsides of your home is your accounts: your IRA, your 401k, your joint account that you’ve got together, and your savings. Your Investments, uh, so I always ask people, “Listen, you’ve got homeowners insurance.” You’ve got car insurance. Most likely, they’ve got life insurance. Why would you not insure your portfolio now? And I’ve got other videos that will be coming out in detail to go into 10 to 15 minutes talking about how to protect your portfolio, so it’ll give you a more in-depth dive into how to do that, but it’s important to understand how to protect your portfolio, and we do it by trading options, so that’s important for us to understand. Imagine if that was you and you were going to retire a year or two years from now and you’re seeing your assets that you’ve saved up your entire life depleted by 20 to 30 percent like we’re seeing now and there’s no end in sight it’s going to be some time before we get back to where we’re going to go and imagine if you were taking income on that while the market is dropping you’re juggling So, you can talk to the trader himself or herself. He was nice enough to join us and take a little time out from being back in his cubby hole, I was nice enough to join us take a little time out from being back in his cubby hole I guess doing all our trading, so we’re glad he’s here, and what we’re going to talk about briefly is our 401K advisory services. So, Terry, let me just get to the point: why is our 401K advisor service one of our most popular services that we provide, and why do you think that’s a good question Dave I believe that most 401K plans have 25 or so funds in them, and each fund may have 50 to 100 securities in it, and I believe that with the thousands of possibilities, most people just have no idea what to do. The second thing is that when they have no idea, they either sit in funds they’ve been in for a while, or they pick what Morning Star targets as well last year, but then they tend to end up defaulting to the of these targets funds with a target date of say 203. Yeah, so, uh, what are your specific services that your team offers behind the scenes for those who may be wondering, “Am I making the right choices? “What do you do when a client walks in the door? What steps do you take? Because the 401(k) plan is likely to be each participant’s largest liquid asset, it’s important for them to maximize performance over the decades that they’re working there. One of the services that we’ve used for a long time is a service that goes in each day and analyses the mutual funds that are in a specific 401K plan and ranks and scores them. It’s almost a hundred thousand dollars more over 20 years by simply taking five minutes a quarter to just adjust to the funds that are performing well at that time, and that was just on a ten thousand dollar investment, so that’s amazing. One of the most common questions we get is about self-managed funds, which are extremely popular today but are unfamiliar to most people. Tell us a little bit about it. Well, in the old days, you couldn’t touch your funds; you could only use the mutual funds that were in there, so you had maybe 25 picks out of the 10,000 potential funds in there. Several years ago, around 2008, there was really no way for anyone to protect their funds other than to just get rid of them, so they started allowing you a small percentage all the way up to 100 percent that you could transfer into an account.
